Since my last entry I've not been up to much running wise. My beautiful daughter Lee-anne got married in early September so things were very hectic during August as we made final preparations. She went on honeymoon a few days after her wedding and since then we've been kept busy doing other non running stuff which I'm not going to go into right now.I have been congratulating myself on my lack of running injuries this summer. Running with Lee-anne and Hayley has kept me going at a slower pace with more breaks in between runs as we've had a struggle to find days when we can all three of us run. I found this a bit frustrating but at least I've not overdone things! Last week I managed to injure my knee while working, which resulted in a very swollen joint and that's now been replaced by a bruise the size of a small country! Quite worried about how I managed to get such a big bruise but I think I solved that today. For a few days after the wedding I was taking ibuprofen after my back problem was aggravated by the rather high heels I wore for the wedding. I have also been taking garlic capsules for a while as I was told that it acted as a mozzy repellant as it changes the blood chemistry. It would appear that it's not recommended to take these two items together! Needless to say I've stopped both and hopefully that will be that... the bruise will go and all will be fine.
Today, I'm having a skive off work though - just to allow me to rest up the knee a bit more. (skive - isn't that when you take a day off when you're perfectly well? Maybe I'm just taking a day off sick then?!)
Hopefully I'll be back to running again in the next few weeks as I miss the fresh air, the running, the time alone to think, and most of all I miss shedding the lbs so I can eat cake and drink beer.
Thanks for allowing me to bore you once more...

Hello! I'm still aboot and trying to run a bit, not too much because each time something hurts I want to stop for a day or three... but I'll get back to it properly, and so will you. I look forward to us spurring each other on!
Yay! it worked this time :)
