Thanks for joining me - I thought I was alone - talking to myself as usual but I have my lovely MFPs with me and the Mysterons (do you remember them from your childhood?) - how very exciting!
I'm not going to do a written daily update this week - I will be filling out my table as usual though and might make the odd comment on how I'm doing with Week 5 but I thought I'd just add some random thoughts instead of a day by day blow by blow account....
On Tuesday I went to have an asthma check up with the local nurse - I was actually wanting to go the the "Well Woman" clinic but my local surgery don't do one of those any more. I'm very happy to report that I've been given a clean bill of health and more importantly (to me right now) I've been given the all clear to continue with my c25k exercise program. Hurrah! We covered loads of other topics too - I got all those little niggles out of the way with, which on their own aren't a good enough reason to take time to visit the surgery. The nurse was very patient as I got my list out! It would appear that my asthma is no longer there (I've been getting bouts of it all through my life off and on and at the moment it's "off" so that's really good news!)
On Wednesday I took my girls out for a walk at 5.30hrs. It's lovely to be out and about so early - barely another soul around, just the birds, deer and rabbits for company even on the outskirts of a city. You can't beat it. It did make me think about how restricted I actually feel about where I can go. As a woman I sometimes feel quite scared heading off to my local park so early in the day when I'm alone. It's not so bad when it's really busy - I feel safe enough then - but visiting so early in the day, I barely saw a soul and that made me feel very vulnerable even with my two dogs in tow. For that reason (and even though they'll never read these words) I want to thank the 2 men who passed by us and gave us a wide berth as we walked. They didn't make eye contact and didn't speak, just walked on past and ignored us. That made me feel safer. The only people who did speak were two joggers - a man and a woman who wished us good morning as they went past. In an ideal world I could walk where I wanted at whatever time I felt like it and feel safe and secure.

Saturday should have been doing my c25k day but we were up and out rather early - heading up to Liverpool to watch the Chicks V Kittens Roller Derby Bout - my daughters girlfriend was taking part - this was her maiden bout which is why we went along to support her. An excellent day was had by all and the Kittens won! HURRAH! We rounded the day off by heading over to Rochdale and had a meal with family before heading back home - so, as you can see, I just didn't have the time to do c25k
I was way over on the calories today...pretty much every day has been over my calorie allowance this week. I think that next week I must try harder!

I completed c25k Week 5 today - finishing with a great 20 min. jog. My legs were a bit tired but they'd best get used to it - it's not going to get any easier that's for sure!
Please drop me a quick comment to let me know you've passed by this way. I really appreciate it.
