Week 1 Day 1 - How Did I Get On? Well, the lack of music made it a bit boring, and as I had an audience in my conservatory as I ran I thought it would be a bit rude of my to throw open all the windows and doors - so it was rather warm to say the least! I found the run OK until the last 10 minute running interval when my HRM started to beep beep beep beep beep! I think it goes into alarm at 164 beats per minute. When I wouldn't shut up I switched down from 5mph jog to 4.9mph and that did the trick - and of course, as soon as it shut up I went back to 5mph jog. I have to say that I feel so INVIGORATED when I've done my run - sweaty, hot , sticky - but very INVIGORATED and ooh so proud of myself for keeping on at this jogging lark! :)

Week 1 Day 2 : I found today's workout quite a bit easier. Probably because I'd sorted out some music! The podcast for week one still isn't loading onto my ipod no matter what I do! All the other weeks and it's showing on my itunes library - just doesn't seem to be downloading onto my ipod. Most strange. So, I used my phone timer to time the different walk/jog increments and just played my own choice of music. This helped quite a bit - having a beat to run to made the workout seem much more interesting and I managed to finish without too much difficulty.

Week 1 Day 3: Another reasonable workout. I upped my jogging speed during 2 of the 4 increments and managed to finish feeling quite confident about my run. I do get very hot here in the conservatory though - even though I have my fan running, windows and doors open and my wet wipes on hand to mop my brow! I try to increase the distance I run each time but I know that this is a tough workout and I'm way out of my comfort zone,. I think I might concentrate on just finishing and worry about speed once I've completed the program. It's hard to do that when I just want to push myself further all the time!

Excellent first week and good good recovery time. When my HR goes up, it stays up (end even goes up more) for several mins before it comes back down again. You must be getting super fit! Well done :)
