WEEK TWO
Week 2 Day 1..
Sunday 31st July 2011
Warm dry morning - up to 70* by the time I went out today. Too warm for me. I prefer it to be very cool! I struggled a little bit. Probably because I'm so tired. Didn't go to bed until after 2am and I was up again before 7. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight!

Week 2 Day 2..
Monday 1st August 2011
Had a bit of a blip today. I ran into my daughter as I jogged so I decided to jog part way to her work with her. It was lovely to chat with her as I jogged (she cycled along side me) It had the effect of slowing me down so I had enough breath to talk which was good. Slow pace, longer distance is my aim. Unfortunately it also had the effect of sapping my concentration and I realise that I actually only jogged 15 minutes not 20. However, once we parted company I did do a 10 minute jog so for the purpose of todays results I've just taken 50% of the stats from that jog and combined them to this one.

Thursday 4th August
5 MINUTE WARM UP WALK
15 MINUTE JOG
5 MINUTE WALK
15 MINUTE JOG
5 MINUTE COOL DOWN WALK
Keeping track of the intervals is a right pain in the arse! I have them written down on a bit of paper which I stuff under the strap of my HRM/Watch - and I pull it out a bit at a time to reveal what I need to do next. This is NOT an ideal way to do things. Wish I had an app that would tell me what to do!
Today I'm running to alleviate stress - my dad's got an important appointment at the hospital this afternoon - I didn't even notice what the weather was like or anything - other things on my mind!!

Week 2 Day 6
Saturday 6th August 2011
5 MINUTE WARM UP WALK
30 MINUTE JOG
5 MINUTE COOL DOWN WALK
Comfortable day. Coolish. Not too humid. Leigh joined me on her roller skates - safety in numbers and all that! I think my new nickname should be "Captain Slow" because I jog so slowly even walkers could pass me! I'm very mindful that I want to do the distance - so I'm happy to sacrifice speed. I keep reminding myself that when I was at school I was a sprinter. I never did distance so this is all very new to me. I also keep reminding myself that I'm out there doing this. Not sitting at home being idle. Pat myself on the back time!
Today I had to use my Blackberry as a music player after the sad demise of my ipod. (RIP Nettys Ipod - I loved you so much) The BB is OK but when Endomondo cuts in with an update on distance or if somebody gives me a pep talk the music mutes and just doesn't cut back in again. Have you ever tried jogging and fiddling around with a phone in your arm band? Try it - I promise you WONT like it! So I spent pretty much all morning stressing about how I was going to afford a new ipod as I really can't live without it. I even considered buying a cheap mp3 player (gasp), but quickly decided I like the ipod brand - so - should I get a nano for home holidays and work and a shuffle for running - or should I just replace my trusty Classic - like for like? Or go utterly mad and get an ipod touch? I decided to test the water with He-Who-Must-Be-Ignored and informed him that I'd "reserved" an ipod touch at Argos. He blanched at this point and demanded to know how much that was going to cost etc etc... looking very outraged at the prospect of spending lots of money. Then he rummaged around in the garage and handed me a little Asda Living bag and told me to stop bloody moaning!

| Hello You Beautiful Bit Of Kit! (Nettys New Ipod Touch) |
Inside the Asda Living bag was my NEW BEST FRIEND - a new 8gig Ipod Touch. Its so beautiful (even when it's covered in sticky finger prints!)
I must point out that for around 18 hours it was NOT my new best friend as I couldn't figure out how to put podcasts onto the ruddy thing and it wouldn't allow me to put my talking books onto it and as for connecting to t'interweb - FORGET IT! Slowly but surely I solved the problems. First of all the podcasts went on, then the penny dropped with the audio books (it was something very stupid) and then just before bed time when I'd given up connecting it to the internet I read the suggestion to turn off my router and put it back on again - and would you believe it - problem solved and Netty suddenly had a new VERY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
Oh and before I forget, here are Saturdays Stats:
| Duration | Calories | Av. ♥ | Max ♥ | Distance | Walk Speed | Running Speed | Venue | |
| 40mins | 294 | 136 | 156 | 3.27m | * | * | Outdoors |
Thoughts At The End Of The Week:
This is going to get so tough I don't think I'll manage it - but I'm going to give it my very best shot! My New Best Friend and I are looking forward to getting acquainted and sharing may miles of jogging together...
See you in Week 3 dear reader! :)
