Didn't he know that my urge to run had to be satisfied there and then otherwise it would wane and I'd become an idle sod again very quickly?!
The first time I encountered Crazy Man I took myself outside and had a quick run outdoors - the gardeners looked at me as though I was crazy. The security guards looked bemused. I soon gave that up as a bad idea as I appeared to have slipped into the persona of Crazy Lady!
I soon found myself stuck in Idleness when Neils dad became very ill and we spent several days just looking after him (I guess I wasn't being idle - I was just busy doing other more important stuff!) and never quite managed to find my way back to the gym after that!
Once we got back home I had a few days off work and found an excuse not to go out with the Lincoln City Joggers on the first Wednesday after our holiday. On the Friday I found an excuse not to go out to do a solo run. On the Sunday the joggers were doing a race somewhere so I had another excuse to be idle and decided not to head out.
Idleness was taking hold!
Jumping on the scales I found that I'd put on a whole half stone during that month of holidaying and being bone idle.
It has taken me til June to really get back to grips with getting my arse in gear and my feet in my running shoes. In June I got my very first Running Blister - and damned painful it was too! Having forked out £80 for shoes I now find I can't run in them as they're rubbing the edge of the arch of my left foot. Goodness knows why. They were very comfortable for the first 40 or so miles I used them. Maybe my feet are just making a token protest at being expected to run again?
Hopefully June will see me loosing some of the weight, leaving blisters behind and getting some more miles under my belt....
We shall see...

PS you may have noticed that I have a race in my schedule - the Notfast 10k. I shall be entering into the spirit of things and I intend to go NotFast. I will settle for finishing, especially if it's a warm day and my shoe problem isn't resolved!
